Privacy and the survey.

What this site collects

This website does not use accounts, logins, newsletters, donations or a mailing list. The only information collected anywhere on this site is through the anonymous campaign survey.

What the survey collects

The survey asks for your written answers on each of my four priorities, an open "anything else" box, and two optional broad questions: your age band (12 to 15, 16 to 18 or 19 to 25) and whether you live in Aberdeenshire West. The survey never asks for your name, email address, phone number, school or exact location, so please don't type those into the answer boxes.

What isn't collected

The survey does not log or store your IP address, and this site doesn't use tracking or analytics cookies. A single small, non-identifying flag is set in your browser for 48 hours after you submit, purely to stop the same browser accidentally submitting twice. It doesn't contain any personal information and isn't used for anything else.

The campaign video

My campaign video is hosted on YouTube. Nothing is loaded from YouTube until you press play. When you do, the video plays from YouTube's privacy-enhanced (youtube-nocookie.com) player, and YouTube's own privacy policy applies to it.

Why it's collected

Answers are used to shape which issues I push for as a candidate, and (your words only, never your name) may be shown anonymously on the Your voice and priorities pages.

Where it's kept

Each response is saved in a private folder on the website's hosting that can't be reached from the internet. A copy of each response is also sent by email to the campaign inbox, so I can read it straight away. The email contains only your answers, your age band if you gave one, whether you live in Aberdeenshire West if you said, and the date and time. It never contains anything that could identify you. Only I can see responses.

How long it's kept

Survey responses, including the copies in the campaign inbox, will be deleted after the Scottish Youth Parliament election concludes.
