When and how

Online, 2 to 15 November 2026

Voting is online. It's open for two weeks, and you can cast your vote at any point during that window.

How it's counted

Single Transferable Vote (STV)

Aberdeenshire West elects two MSYPs. Instead of picking just one candidate, you rank candidates in order of preference: 1, 2, 3 and so on.

Why it matters

Every preference counts

Because two seats are up for election under STV, votes can transfer between candidates as the count happens. Using all your preferences, not just your first choice, gives your vote the most chance of counting.

The one thing to remember

Put me as your 1 and use all your preferences.
